The company expects that these antiviral medicines will be applicable to prevention and treatment of almost any viral disease - from influenza and the common cold to diseases caused by viruses such as SARS, HIV, Hepatitis B and C, Small Pox, Ebola, and Dengue. Avirid's antiviral medicines are expected to be equally effective against naturally occurring mutants of viruses and against mutant viruses already resistant to other antiviral drugs. These antivirals are also intended to eliminate the potential to induce viral resistance.
